Where are the funds raised being donated to?
100% of the proceeds will be donated to GK1World (Singapore) Ltd.*, the official representative of Gawad Kalinga Philippines ("GK") . Gawad Kalinga, which means "to give care", was founded in 2003 as a non-profit organization focused on ending poverty by building sustainable communities. GK transforms slums into communities through a range of programs focusing on shelter, health, education, and livelihood programs. Over 2000 communities in the Philippines have benefited from GK's initiatives, and GK has expanded its services to other developing nations like Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, and Cambodia.
Given the devastation caused by the recent typhoon, GK has mobilized forces to help the victims of Typhoon Haiyan.
GK's disaster relief operations in the Philippines are activated through "Operation Walang Iwanan" ("no one is left behind"). It has been mobilized now to bring immediate aid to the victims of Typhoon Haiyan. As of Nov 19th, GK has established three bases of operations in the disaster areas and mobilized the delivery of 60,000 food packs with a new target of 200,000 food packs in the next two weeks. It has also simultaneously activated a Rehabilitation and Reconstruction plan to help rebuild the lives of victims.
